Abstract

The success of a bank in achieving its business goals is highly dependent on the performance of its employees. Therefore, the efforts made by managers in improving the performance of bank employees are very vital aspects. This study aims to describe the strategies, roles, and constraints and solutions used by branch managers to improve the performance of employees of Bank Muamalat Madiun Branch Office (KCP). The method used in this study is a qualitative research method, namely descriptive analysis techniques with primary and secondary data sources. Primary data were obtained from the research location by conducting in-depth interviews, observations and documentation with the bank and customers. Secondary data were obtained from literature in the form of books, journals and other scientific works. The results of the study are manager strategies in improving employee performance, namely by improving time discipline, establishing cooperation, a supportive work environment, work evaluation, skill training, and the importance of motivation. The role of branch managers in managing employee performance with rewards and punishments in order to improve discipline and work enthusiasm. Constraints and solutions to branch manager strategies in improving employee performance such as relationships with customers and understanding differences in employee character.
