This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the act of publishing: the authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher (Institut Agama Islam Riyadlotul Mujahidin Ngabar Ponorogo). The journal adheres to the principles and guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of a scientific article represents a vital contribution to the development of a coherent and respected body of knowledge. It reflects the quality and credibility of the authors, their institutions, and the scholarly community. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process are expected to uphold ethical behavior and academic integrity.
As the publisher, Institut Agama Islam Riyadlotul Mujahidin Ngabar Ponorogo takes its custodial role seriously and ensures that commercial factors such as advertising, reprints, or sponsorships do not influence editorial decisions. The Editorial Board assists in ensuring transparency and integrity throughout the publication process.
2. Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for determining which submitted manuscripts will be published. This decision is based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
- Fair and Impartial Evaluation: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic content without regard to authors’ race, gender, religion, or political ideology.
- Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal research without permission.
- Handling of Unethical Publishing Behavior: Editors must act upon any indication of research misconduct and take appropriate corrective measures.
3. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and improving manuscript quality.
- Promptness: Reviewers who cannot complete the review on time should inform the editor immediately.
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential.
