<description descriptionType="Abstract">
Mental disorders, encompassing a wide spectrum of psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder, have increasingly become a critical challenge in global mental health. Psychotherapy, as a continually evolving approach, places emotional regulation techniques at the core of mental health treatment. This article provides an in-depth exploration of the integration of emotional regulation techniques into psychotherapy as a strategy to enhance the psychological resilience of individuals affected by mental disorders. The analysis begins with a comprehensive understanding of emotional regulation concepts, including emotion recognition, management of emotional responses, and the application of various psychotherapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and acceptance-based therapy. The study further examines how the combination of emotional regulation techniques with psychotherapeutic approaches can accelerate recovery, reduce symptom severity, and improve patients' quality of life. In addition to highlighting these potential benefits, the article addresses challenges in implementation, such as cultural barriers, insufficient therapist training, and patient resistance. Finally, strategic recommendations are offered to support effective implementation, including the development of standardized protocols, professional training programs, and the adaptation of techniques to individual needs and cultural contexts. This integration is envisioned as a progressive step toward holistically and sustainably addressing the complexities of mental disorders.
