Teknik Cognitive Restructuring untuk Mengurangi Loneliness Remaja

The purpose of this article is to discuss cognitive restructuring techniques as an effort to reduce loneliness in adolescents. The research method used is a literature review on loneliness in adolescents and cognitive restructuring techniques. The literature review was conducted by searching and collecting articles, books, and other relevant reference sources. Loneliness is a sad emotional experience that occurs when the quality and quantity of social relationships do not match expectations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the level of loneliness increased significantly; however, this phenomenon did not end with the pandemic. In the post-pandemic period and in the present context, changes in patterns of social interaction, increased use of digital media, and shifts in social support continue to make loneliness a pressing issue. If left unchecked, loneliness can have negative impacts on individuals, including sleep disturbances, low life satisfaction, and even self-harm tendencies. Loneliness is closely related to the cognitive component in which individuals perceive a discrepancy between the expected relationship and the reality they experience. Cognitive restructuring techniques are used to replace self-defeating thoughts and behaviors with more positive and beneficial ones, making this approach a potential alternative to reduce loneliness in adolescents.
